The elf did not lower his bow. "Fiorex, is this true?" he asked, the tip of his arrow gleaming- waiting to draw blood. Fiorex stood in awe.
"What? Goldie-" he stammered, lowering Valandil's bow with one hand before approaching her, "What are you doing here?" He bit his lip. "Valandil, it's alright. She isn't a harm in any way."
Valandil placed his bow back in hesitation, keeping a watchful eye over the young girl. "So be it," he finally said, "If this woman really is a comrade of yours, Fiorex, then I suppose it is alright." He peered at Collete, walking towards her, "But watch your eye, young lady, as that does not mean I trust you."
Fiorex patted Valandil on the shoulder in a friendly way, laughing in a sort of way, "So, Valandil, I guess we should go, no?" Valandil sighed, closing his eyes in irritation. "You forgot the book again." Fiorex ears fell flatly on his head. "Oops," was all he said, before he scampered back across the river to fetch the books he left on the treetop.
Meanwhile, Valandil stood quietly in the forest opening. Eyes closed, but mind watchful.

Collete swallows the bile rising from her stomach.
I... I cant die now...
She closes her eyes and waits for her verdict. She hears Fiorex's voice and opens her eyes. She sees him in front of her.
"I...I just wanted to see if you were alright... You looked like you were in so much pain..." She looks down. "Sorry..."
She could still feel Valandil's piercing gaze at her. It felt like millions of arrows piercing her soul. She looks up, and stares into his eyes. It was the eyes of distrust. She knew those eyes very well. The eyes she always wore whenever she was near a Wiken.
She realizes that Fiorex disappeared into the trees, leaving her with Valandil.
"Shoot..." She cursed to herself.

The tree leaves rustle. A second in the forest opening felt like an eternity. There were no birds chirping; the trickle of the river's water is unheard.
"Collete Ambrose of Lenaria," a telepathic surge of power echoed in the young woman's head. She was literally hearing voices. "Tell me, why do you bother with the Wikens? I can sense abhorrence and malice in your heart for the Wiken-kind." The voice did not fade, nor falter. In fact, it grew louder with every word. "Is there any business you have with Fiorex and I? Where is this malice now? Are you still clinging on..."
"To the past?"
The questions would not stop, and they grew busier and less comprehensible. By the time the woman felt she was about to go deaf, another voice in the distance spoke out.
"Valandil, Goldie! M'back!"
The elf's eyes opened. The voices stopped.
The young lad panted, carrying two heavy books in his arms. "See? I know how to keep my things," he smiled childishly. Valandil simply rolled his eyes, and for the first time, it seemed as if you could see a hint of a smile- though it was hard to see through all that... pokerface.
"When do we leave?" Fiorex asked him excitedly, putting the hood on his cloak on.
"Dusk," the elf said, "which will be in about an hour or so."

Xephras observes them, wondering whether he should act or not. Looking at the crystal sword Sirgil gives him, he looks back at the scene before him.

The elf felt a presence.
Somebody's watching, he thought.
Turning to one side, he saw another young human- a male this time, peering at them. Valandil gazed upon him.
"What business do you have here, vagabond?" a startling voice echoed inside the young man's head.
After all, what better way to question someone than to send startling telepathic messages to them? Haha.

Xephras jumped at the question and looked around frantically "u..ummm...I was with someone...and I was just leaving...so..umm.." he stops and turns around, starting to walk away.

Voices? Do I hear voices...?
Collete covers hear ears in a fruitless attempt to block out it out. The voices grow louder and louder with every word. Tears start falling as the pain in her head increases at a rapid pace. All she could hear is the voice, nothing else.
She wanted to scream. She wanted it all to stop. Then, the voices stopped. Everything was clear, and she could hear Fiorex's cheerful voice echoing through her. She looks up and sees him carrying two books and smiling at the elf. She realizes she's kneeling on the ground, while her arms are clutching her ears, causing them to go red.
She gathers all the courage she has in her disposal, and looks at Valandil in the eye. She says with a shaking voice. "When... When I'm with him... The...The malice... Disappears..."

"Goldie?" Fiorex looked at her, her tears falling towards the ground. "Oi, Collete! What's wrong?" he asked, placing the books on the floor. He held out a hand to help her up.
"Are you hurt? Did a centipede bite you or something?" he questioned excessively.
Valandil simply turned his head, his gaze towards the near sunset. It would be time to go soon.
Time to leave the territory.

Xephras walks away from them, wandering around the vast forests. And soon, he's gone.

She shakes her head as she takes his hand.
"N-no... Just.. Just a headache..." She forces a smile. "You don't need to worry..." Before she could say anything, she collapses in his arms.

"Woah, now," Fiorex stammered, barely being able to support her properly. Dusk came, and Valandil motioned Fiorex to leave. Carrying her on his back, (which he found rather hard since the only thing he usually carried on his back was a bunch of wild winged cats) he and the elf trudged his way out the forest.
"Where will you leave the girl?" Valandil said, quite irate at the fact that they were supposed to travel, you know, light.
"Back to her home, of course." Fiorex replied eagerly, "We're going to Lenaria anyway, right?"
Valandil gave him a look of confusion, "This is your first trip to Lenaria, is it not?"
"Yes..?"
"Do you even know where her residence is in Lenaria?"
"... Help?"
Valandil sighed. It was take her back home to Lenaria, I mean, there wasn't really another choice. He was obliged to help the girl, whether it was in his favor or not.
And so he did.
And they left before the sun disappeared into the everlasting horizon.
